Hiya Health operate in association with gyms, or in their own centres. They are not 'glorified masseurs', they aim to help people help themselves. That is not to say they don't help with physical damage, but they would rather you had a deep tissue massage if that is all you want or need.
My personal physiotherapist comes to my home and is now an 'expert' in neurological physiotherapy. He is 'hands on' and moves the body parts that need it.
He now manages their Beenleigh location but assures me his fellow workmates are the same.
If you read this site thoroughly, you will know I am not a fan of OT'S. Having said that Hiya Health are now expanding their staff and now have OT's who actually listen to the physio's. They are happy to recognise what they don't know, relying on physios to advise them.
When it comes to an OT for Home Modifications, I recommend Jamie Metveyeff from yourchoicehomemods@gmail.com. Unfortunately he is very busy, so you might have to wait a while.
I love autistic people, I married one and it is all through my family. My daughter is living proof that early intervention is vital. I was in NZ when she was diagnosed and with training from Autism NZ and a wonderful early childhood centre in Pukekohe where we lived, she has managed to make it to University.
I AM SETTIING UP A SUPPORT GROUP FOR FAMILIES OF PEOPLE WITH AUTISM - whether on the NDIS or not.
If you are interested, please call me.
I have a Graduate Diploma in counselling and am always available for a chat, but often that isn't enough.
People in this category, need more coordination of supports than most and the NDIA is targeting Participants where there is any suggestion of coersion and/or mismanagement.
Please call me if you need help
It's all about you and your needs, not us. We will find the support you need just ask us
